Exhibiting alongside Ukrainian Artists in London

I’m honoured to be selected to exhibit in London in an exhibition opening today which reflects on conflict and especially the war in Ukraine.

Illustrated is my sculpture, ‘Wounded-Resilience’, Raku ceramic with paper additions.

Much of my artwork explores history and conflict, usually, I take a subtle approach, but sometimes, especially after watching another news bulletin, the times demand directness. These civilians may be victims of war, but they are also survivors-they are resilient.

I’m aware that working in the UK I’m in a privileged position of safety, I’ve given significant thought to what gives me the right to make work about conflict – but that’s a subject for another post.
